Getaway to Cape Cod

Summer in New York is great. We have everything in the city that makes a perfect summer, from a rooftop Mojito to a stroll through SOHO, except for a beach. Though Long Island or Coney Island might be a good option to stop that craving, it's just not enough.
I wanted something more than a beach; more like a road trip to escape from the city's crazy business and busyness. That's why I went to Cape Cod, a place only taking four hours driving and offering scenic ocean view.
It went beyond my expectation. We spent most of the time in Provincetown at the very tip of the arm-shaped peninsula. Unlike the beach in Florida or California, the sea in Cape Cod was quite calm and mild, just like the blue honey in the Mediterranean.
I've heard that many writers would come to Cape Cod to nurse their mood and write good stories, but not until the moment I saw the crystal-clear beauty of Atlantic Ocean, the 40-mile string of beaches, the wide stretches of glowing green meadows, I understood the why.

If there is only one thing you can't miss in Provincetown, it should be the sunset view in Herring Cove Beach. The picture was rolling out with blooming golden clouds, blurring horizon, tiny yachts and sizzling beach bonfires. We sit in the breezes and could not even take a breath.
This poem caught the mood perfectly:
Midnight Dreams Some night when the moon rises o'er the bay,
I will snatch a moonbeam and sail away,
To the misty clouds where the stars shine through.
In the glorious heavens of midnight blue To the winsome land of my dreams...
Geneve (Nickerson) Eldredge

Like the artistic vibe going around everywhere in Provincetown, so was the food. Provincetown has been long called a "Foodie" town, and you'd better prepare yourself with a huge appetite. What could go better than a lobster roll paired with a glass of Cape Codder? A dinner on the bay and a drink in a patio bar would just finish your day perfectly.

You'll easily get the top seafood names by asking any locals, such as Red Inn or The Patio. But if you have a sweet tooth just like me, I gotta tell you the best thing I had in town -the Malassada in Portuguese Bakery. This Portuguese sweet fried dough totally blew me away right at the first bite. I would drive all the way down there just to get this. So don't miss.
